Empty

This week has sucked. Robert the Cat died early Tuesday morning. My "friends" suck ass (more on the later.) The Firebird's starter is going bad, again. The Grand Prix was dead from Saturday evening until late this evening. I'm hopeful it's the keys causing the problem and the local Chevy dealer said they'll test the keys for free.

Now we'll touch on my "friends." The "I've been busy" excuse doesn't mean anything to me. I know the world doesn't revolve around me, but if you're a true friend you make time for a phone call or email once or twice a week. One of my true friends has 2 kids, works and has a boyfriend to take care of too. She manages to talk with me at least once a week. And no, I don't expect people to always call me. Quite the contrary, actually. I'm usually the one doing all of the calling/emailing/etc because people refuse to put forth effort. Almost equally as lame is the "I'm in a bad place mentally" excuse, or any of its lame variants. Get fucked. We all have shitty days, weeks or months. Pull your head out of your ass and realize your friends are here to help you through those times. You fuck around long enough, and when you're "feeling better" you won't have any friends. What pisses me off the most is when people ask me to be understanding. Oh, get fucked. You can call on your way home from work, while you're waiting on dinner to finish or while you're washing clothes. Oh wait, that would require EFFORT and we can't have that, now can we? The best are "friends" who simply disappear. I love knowing someone for years, then one day they disappear to never talk to me again. Nice way to have a spine, assholes (yep, it's happened with more than one person.) I love people who waste my time with empty promises and excuses as to why their time is worth more than our friendship.

I now have 3 labret piercings. They rock the house. Equally as rocking is my Michael Myers tattoo. Photos are at my MySpace page, www.myspace.com/thepooper

I painted my fingernails, but they will inevitably look like ass.

My eyebrows need waxed something fierce. I should get that taken care of tomorrow.

I've vented, now I shall slumber.

Time For Hibernation

Now I realize why all of the smart animals hibernate; winter is cold! The temperatures have been well below zero (with wind chill) for almost a week. School was canceled yesterday and today because of the cold, which is crazy. I can't remember school being canceled one time because it was too cold. But anyway, yeah, it's cold.

What do I do when it's balls cold? Go shopping, of course! I found some awesome deals over the weekend. On Friday, I scored this incredibly cute rolling suitcase for $22! Now I have the peeeenk one, and this as well ($9.) For some reason the duffel comes up as having wheels, but it doesn't. Oh, and who can forget the awesome laptop bag ($8.75?) Now, if I only had somewhere to take my awesome Isaac luggage.
While at Target, I scored this HP photo printer for $35! Yes, $35!!!! I guess it's being discontinued, but I don't care. The cartridge, HP110, is used for other items and is pretty cheap ($20.) The photos from this printer are great, and the printer is 100% portable. It even has a cute little handle! (Shut up)
Finally, at the end of my Friday shopping excursion, I bit the bullet and purchased this laser printer at Office Max. The best part is I picked it up for under $100, including the one-year replacement warranty. It seems to be a nice printer, and it's pretty small for a laser printer. The toner cartridge isn't too bad, $65, and is supposed to yield 3,000 pages or so. Even with all online classes this semester, it'll take me a while to print 3,000 pages, so I figure it was a good investment.

Morgan and I were going somewhere on Saturday, I think it was to see Ducky, when we realized the Grand Prix's speakers had suddenly began to suck. It sounded as though all 4 speakers had blown out at once. On Sunday we decided to buy new speakers for the car. We spent more than I wanted to, but the rears sound awesome. I'm picking up the front set today; they were out of stock at the Canton store, so I have to run to Chapel Hill (Cuyahoga Falls) and pick them up. I also bought 3 DVD's from Best Buy. I couldn't help myself, they were only $5 each, and I had to use the remaining $15 on the gift card. Instead of using cash to buy the speakers, I ran to Giant Eagle (local grocery store chain) and purchased $150 in Best Buy gift cards. For every $50 spent at Giant Eagle, we receive 20 cents off per gallon of gas. On Friday I used our $1.60 off per gallon, and we already have another 80 cents off per gallon! Which is good, because the Grand Prix needs gas again. But yeah, cheap gas is good.

On Saturday it was 15 degrees below zero, and there are Morgan and I feeding Ducky. We stopped to check on her, and she gave us the "where's my food" look. So we ran to the store, and bought her some bread. Upon our return, I took that photo of her. Crappy camera phone photo, but you get the point.

I went to bed at 9:30 last night. Not on purpose, mind you. I laid down to get warm, and wound up falling asleep. I woke up at 4AM and have been up ever since.

Michael Myers tattoo tomorrow (Wednesday) at 7PM. It's going to rock the house.

Freezing, must cover up.

Robert the Cat

I came home from work today, and found this sitting on the TV stand:

OK, right now he's cute and semi-cuddly. We named him Robert the Cat. Bonus points if you know what his name's in reference to.

Gah, I need to get off the Internet.

Ow

This week has been so painful on different levels. Physically I have two new tattoos, both of which weren't as bad as I thought they'd be. Crow wasn't anywhere near as painful as Servo was, and the Firebird tattoo hurts more now than it did while I was getting it. The labret (lip piercing) didn't hurt at all during the actual piercing, and only swelled for a day, if that. It was more of a getting used to it thing the first couple days, and now I'm completely used to it. For some reason this week dragged by, even with Monday being a holiday. I started a new schedule this week; no my permanent schedule, but only 20 hours a week. While 20 hours a week is nice, I'm getting the crap schedule because Angel has 2 kids. She can't work the evenings because of her kids, which is cool. I prefer evenings anyway, but I'll be glad when my schedule is a normal Monday-Thursday from 1PM-6PM. I've had quite a few "issues" at work with computers and stuff, but I fixed everything I could because I rock! Overall I'm going to enjoy this job, and it gives me plenty of study time as well.

Blogger's Still Pissing Me Off

But really, what choice do I have? I'm too lazy to learn a new method of blogging, so I'm stuck here. The only thing I'm pissed off about is my inability to switch to the new version of Blogger. I guess, after blogging for over 4 years I shouldn't complain too much.

This weekend was busy, busy, busy. Got a new tattoo and piercing, drove to Pittsburgh and didn't sleep very much. Sounds fun, yes?

I'm getting another tattoo Wednesday. I'd have got it Saturday, but the copier was out of toner and my artist wants to do something way cool with Crow T. Robot. I can't wait to see the finished product.

I should finish putting away clean clothes, then set up the new aquarium. It's only a 10 gallon, but it'll be plenty big enough for our new Betta, Rambo (Morgan named him.)

I'm off.

I Dislike Blogger

Blogger's pissing me off.

That is all.

All Work & No Pay

Makes Lisa a pissed off girl. I was supposed to get paid yesterday. The mail just went, and I didn't receive my paycheck today either. Why the college doesn't pass out checks like every other employer is beyond me. But yeah, I didn't get paid and I'm soooooo happy about it, I could piss myself.

In other news, we haven't yet purchased the Grand Prix. We're shooting for the middle of next week.

Nothing else to say, really.

Happy Moo Year

So we went to The Chamber for New Year's Eve. It sucked. There was a 35-40 minute line for the bar, I'm not touching buffet food at a club and annoying people were plentiful. The only nice thing was Ohio's smoking ban went into effect, so the air was clear. Next year, unless they open the Phantasy portion as well, we're finding something else to do.

Barb and Kanon got me a $50 gift card for Torrid. Morgan and I stopped there on the way home since clearance was an additional 50% off. I walked out with this shirt, this pair of jeans and this pair of jeans. Total? $52.12. I rule. I may exchange the shirt for this one, though. I was in a hurry and completely forgot about the Zim shirts.
I have a couple Hello Kitty shirts, but no Zim shirts.

Today I'm proctoring testing until 2PM, then going home at 3. I really don't want to be here today, I didn't get to sleep until almost 1AM, but at least it's a job. Besides, the 15th I switch to my new 20 hour a week schedule.

Buying a Grand Prix Saturday as long as Shay or her boyfriend can find the title. LOL

Eh, I'm spent.

Christmas Early

The baby is doing well. He bit my Mom, and enjoyed eating wrapping paper. He's way heavy, and is very alert. I'll post photos at my Yahoo account.

For Christmas, I was gifted with a $50 Target gift card, and a bag of Bath and Body Works stuff. I was going to buy a new jacket with the gift card, but I didn't like how the jackets fit. So, I used the gift card on the second best thing; sock monkey stuff! I bought the slippers and the pants. I would have purchased the sheets too, but they were sold out of Queen size. The sheets were only $19 in the store! The pants were $17 and the slippers were $13. Expensive, but cute and I had a gift card.

I'm sick and it sucks.

Bed.

Access Denied

I'm still unable to switch to the new version of Blogger. It's really pissing me off. Way back when, I subscribed to Blogger's Blog*Spot Plus feature. It was less than $5/mo, and enabled me to upload images and stuff via FTP. I also had "priority" access to techs for questions, etc. Well now, it's biting me in the ass. Short of deleting my first blog, with almost 2000 posts, I'm stuck with the old version of Blogger. Additionally, no one will reply to my inquires on how to update my old blog. I keep receiving an error message saying the password is incorrect (I know it isn't.) Grrrrrrrrrr.

It's so touching when someone I don't even know takes stuff from my site, and uses it as their own. Even if it's part of the public domain, do your own searches. Don't rely on other people to find cool stuff, then use it on your own page. And without even emailing them to say "thanks for finding cool stuff because I'm too lazy to do it on my own." It would only be better if they hadn't changed the URL and it was still pointing to my site.

I'm up this early because I went to bed before 9PM yesterday, and I have to be at work at 8:30AM. I woke up at 4:30AM, and figured I'd get up. At least I can get all of the clean clothes hung up, check on Mr. Fish, give him his medicine and have a Pop Tart (Mint Chocolate Chip, bitches!) for breakfast.

Speaking of Mr. Fish, he seems to be recovering from his illness. He swimming around more, and swims to the top of the bowl now. I need to get different food, though. I don't think he appreciates his new food (Petco doesn't carry the kind I bought when I got Mr. Fish) and he needs to eat so he gets better. It means I have to go to Wal-Mart, though, and I hate Wal-Mart. I decided to stop shopping there, but they are the only place I can find that brand/type of blood worm. Once he's healthy again maybe I can get him to eat the new stuff. Either that, or I'll buy a couple jars of the food while I'm there. It's less than $3 a jar, and one jar lasted him since April or May. Yeah, one Betta doesn't eat very much.

I rented Silent Hill and The Zodiac Killer yesterday, and Hallow's End arrived in the mail yesterday as well. We can watch two tomorrow, and one tonight. Saturday we're going to Mansfield to see the baby, so that'll be our entertainment for the weekend.

I need food.

Sneeze

I swear, I have mono. I've never had mono before, but it has to be the reason why I'm so tired all of the time. Like, can't find the energy to put away clean clothes tired. I have no idea how I'm going to drive to my Mom's house tomorrow to take her Christmas shopping. It isn't that I don't want to take her; I don't know how I'm going to take her.

On top of being tired beyond words, I'm constantly sneezing. I love it.

I did manage to get out to the PO Box early this afternoon. Man, was it nice outside. Supposed to be even warmer tomorrow and Tuesday. Woo!

New photo of me with new hair and eyebrows.

Back to bed.

Hot Diggity Damn

Mr. Fish is now home. We think he's sick, though, so hopefully we can nurse him back to health. He barely swims, I don't think he's eating and when he does swim, it's sideways. We're going to the pet store today and buying special Mr. Fish water, new rocks, some water conditioner and new food. Hopefully he'll be his cheery Mr. Fish self in no-time.

In other news, we've watched so many movies the past three weeks, it isn't even funny. My month's free trial of Blockbuster Online is almost expired, and I'm definitely renewing the membership. Since signing up for the trial on November 17th we've rented/watched the following movies:
Paradise Lost
Paradise Lost 2
Marilyn Manson's Guns, Gods and Government Tour DVD
Rammstein Industrial Angels Tour DVD
The Texas Chain Saw Massacre (Remake)
Cabin Fever
Black Cadillac
MST3K Disc 4 Season 5
MST3K Disc 5 Season 5
MST3K Monster A Go Go
The Last House on the Left
Donnie Darko
Superman Returns
House Season One Disc 3
House Season Two Disc 1
House Season Two Disc 2
The Devil's Rejects
House of 1000 Corpses
Daughters of Darkness
Forever Knight Season 1 Disc 1
Forever Knight Season 1 Disc 2
Bloodsucking Pharaohs in Pittsburgh
That's a lot of movies for FREE. I figured out why I didn't rent from Blockbuster under normal circumstances; movies are $3.50 each!! But yeah, if any of you are even remotely interested in online movie rental programs, I highly recommend the Blockbuster program. We have the 3 movies out at a time deal, and those movies don't count against in-store rentals either. Earlier in the week we had a stack of 7 DVD's to watch. Bloodsucking Pharaohs, Cabin Fever and TCSM were so bad we couldn't make it through, so that helped cut down on DVD viewing time. Still, who cares if some were duds? They were FREE!!

Shit, I just remembered our car insurance is due tomorrow. I should probably pay the bill so our policies aren't canceled. Not having car insurance is bad, since it's required in Ohio.

Morgan needs to get his ass out of bed soon if he plans on visiting Ducky today (hopefully she's still around.)

We wound up not attending the NEOCC Christmas party yesterday. When I told Morgan it was $22 he thought I meant per membership. No, it was $22 per person. He decided it wasn't worth the $44, plus an hour's drive (each way) in possibly snowy weather. I cooked dinner instead, and we watched DVD's (huge surprise, I know.)

Gah, I should check my PO Box. It's probably crammed full of crap, but maybe our magazines have arrived as well (I have 4 free magazine subscriptions through erewards.com. Free stuff rules.)

Must pee.

Ow

Holy shit, my head hurts so bad right now. I think my brains are going to pop out of my ears or something. Migraines can eat my ass, along with upper respiratory infections. This shit always happens when I get a new job; I swear I'm cursed.

I forgot to include two movies in the list. I also watched Paradise Lost and Paradise Lost 2. Great documentaries, I highly recommend them. They really make you think, especially people who are "different" and live in a small town.

If you'll excuse me, I'm going to die now.

Wednesday, December 06, 2006

Gah

Gah, when I sign in to Blogger I get a notification of being able to switch to the new version. When I try switching, I receive an error message saying I'm not eligible. BAH! I really want to use the new version as changing the template is much easier, and way more user-friendly. Grrrrrrr.

Today I had my eyebrows waxed, and my bangs trimmed.
Then, since I was on such a grooming kick, I painted my nails. Yes, that's right, I painted my fingernails. They're Gargantuan Green Grape (OPI) with a black kitty cat sticker on my left hand's middle finger. Yeah, so it's the OPI Halloween kit, too bad. The green goes with the holiday season, and besides, I think they're cute.

Apparently I'm able to function on 3 hours of sleep? I went to bed at 11:30PM, and woke up at 3:20AM. I absolutely can't get back to sleep, which annoys the shit out of me.

I got a job today! It's another student assistant position, but this one's behind the scenes. I'll be a PC Tech, with two other people. During winter break I'll work 8AM-4:30PM, Monday-Friday. When Spring session begins January 16th, I'll work 20 hours a week. It only pays $6.85/hr, but it's a job. Besides, I won't have to deal with people, other than when the Governor is visiting, or the Rolls Royce people are in town. My office is even in the back of the building, where I'm out of the way. Plus, both of my bosses seem really cool, and I can wear jeans (when there aren't any "important" people around, which is most of the time.) I begin Thursday at 8:30AM, and I'm only working until 12:30PM Thursday and Friday. I even get paid in two weeks! Woo me! Of course, now that I've accepted the position, 2 people called about my resume. One of the positions is as a file clerk. I'll interview for shits and giggles, but unless it pays a minimum of $8/hr, I won't quit the student assistant position.

I can't believe it's almost tax season again already! I'll only have two W-2's this year (Summit Racing and the first student assistant position), and Morgan'll just have one. He still has 3 or 4 days of vacation he needs to take before the end of the year, and the end of the year is pretty damn close. I told him to see if he can take the Friday before Christmas, and the 2 or 3 days after Christmas. They probably won't let him, though, since he's the only detailer at the dealership. He needs to hurry up, though, since he only has 3 weeks to take his days.

Mmmm, Firebird:

Jumping Jehosaphat

Hee, my title means absolutely nothing. But, since I haven't slept more than 2 hours at a time since Saturday, I'm allowed to be weird. Yes, the insomnia is at its worst since I was pregnant. I took 4 sleeping pills at 11PM last night. It's now 6AM, and I slept maybe an hour. I even laid down and tried to sleep for 3 hours; no luck. I am so far past pissed off it isn't even funny.

In other news, I scheduled my Spring semester classes. Lucky me, all 4 of my courses are online! I have an interview at 3:30 this afternoon for a work study position. If I'm hired, I'll only be on campus for work. If I'm not hired, I won't have to go near the school until June (summer classes.) The only exception will be to buy books, which I dread. My classes are Graphic Design, Microsoft Access Database, Help Desk and one other class that's slipping my mind at the moment. Suffice to say it'll be an easy semester.

Allegedly there were 3 inches of snow when Morgan came home from getting Dew around midnight. He has a tendency to exaggerate, though, so there was probably only an inch, if that.

His work Christmas party was OK. The food was the same as last year, only the desserts weren't as good. This year they had a magician, who pretty much sucked. But, Morgan did win a $25 gift card for Target, and we were out of there by 9PM. We went to the Massillon Target, which seems to be the nicest one around here, and he bought a new Logitech game pad for his computer. I picked up a few things out of the dollar bin (wrapping paper, lights for the mini-tree, etc) and some beverages. I freaking love Target!

Over the weekend we watched quite a few movies. I have a membership to Blockbuster Online, and it's fabulous. For $18 a month (the first month is free) I get unlimited online rentals, with a limit of 3 out at any time. Additionally, for every online rental I return in-store I get a free in-store rental! I can also return them via the prepaid mailers, but why would I mail them back when I get free in-store rentals? Anyway, this weekend we watched Superman Returns, House of 1000 Corpses, The Devil's Rejects, Black Cadillac and I started watching Cabin Fever. I didn't really pay attention to Superman Returns, but the Rob Zombie films were actually very good. I was shocked, and I'm now optimistic about him being involved with Halloween 9. Hopefully he'll do a good job. He may be a no-talent ass clown when it comes to music, but his films are worth watching. Black Cadillac is a good movie, and, so far, Cabin Fever has sucked. But I can't complain, they were free! I still have to watch The Last House on the Left and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre Remake. They're not due back until Saturday, though, so I'm sure I'll have time to watch them.

Finally, decent photos (Razr camera phone) of all the penguin stuff I'd like to have from Wal-Mart.

Hella cute, I know.

The NEOCC Christmas party is Saturday. It should be a good time, and the beer's free. Wooooo!

Eh, I should do something constructive instead of blogging.

Not Very Much

eBay hates me. Every time I create a new account, I'm booted about a week later. So, I decided to try and reactivate my original account (over 200 feedback, 100% positive.) To my surprise they reactivated it immediately! I just logged in, and found it's now suspended, again, as is my current account. I hope the payment I just sent for two items isn't "ignored" by the seller since I'm now suspended.

I finally watched The Exorcism of Emily Rose. It was a pretty good movie, yet nothing like I'd expected.

Oooooooh, Bounce has a new Citrus Breeze scent. I must try it.

Damn, my eyebrows need waxed. Put that on my To-Do list for Wednesday. Along with finishing my paper for Intro to Networking, and picking out classes for Spring semester.

Morgan's work Christmas party is Saturday. Same place as last year, so I'm sure it'll be a good time. Hopefully it's warmer than last year, because I'm wearing a dress. I froze my ass off last year, and I wore a sweater and dress pants (I was pregnant and nothing fit.) Part of this year's outfit is one of the eBay items I mentioned above. If it isn't here in time, I'm screwed. I technically could purchase a replacement, but for around $65. I paid $15 on eBay. You see my dilemma.

Actually, we're busy the next 3 Saturdays. Christmas parties the 2nd and 9th, then we see the baby on the 16th. I'm planning on taking a mini-road trip the second or third week of January, as long as the weather's OK. No idea where, but it'll be somewhere fun. Maybe Pittsburgh (Ikea,) or Mount Pleasant, WV (Mothman stuff.) Chicago's too far away for a weekend thing, especially with unpredictable winter weather. I'll figure something out, I'm sure.

It's supposed to be 65 degrees tomorrow, which is good. I need to remove the remaining old stickers from TruckBird, then remove the adhesive with Goo Gone.

I should go to bed. The digital phone installation person will be here between 10AM and noon, then I have stuff to do the rest of the day, so I won't be able to get my usual nap. LOL Yeah, I caved in and got a land line. Using cell phones exclusively feels weird, and with both of us using the minutes, it doesn't work out so well.

Stop It

I need to stop living in the past. For some reason, the last 6 months or so have been spent dwelling on the past. How much better it was when I was younger. How easy life was. All the guys I dated and wondering where they are. Where I went wrong. Etc.... I know this is the worst way to go through life, and I really would like to change my outlook. I think it's mostly because I'm 27, don't have a college degree and don't own a house. Sure, I'm in college, but it's pretty fucking lame because I'm in college for an undergraduate degree. Gah, I always get like this when I can't sleep.

I finally figured out what I was doing wrong in regard to the background image issue. Once I figured out the problem, I realized the image completely jacked up my blog. So, I decided to have a simple black background with multicolored text. The Christmas lights are a bonus for the season. I do all of my HTML editing on wide screen monitors, so the light bar may be too wide for some people's monitors. I'll check it tomorrow on Morgan's giant monitor, but it looks fine on my laptop.

Speaking of laptops, I'm going to try and have my Gateway fixed. I love that laptop, and nothing is wrong with the actual machine. The battery won't charge via the AC outlet, so I have two choices. Try to have the AC jack resoldered, or find an external battery charger. I'd prefer the external charger, but they're next to impossible to find. I run the risk of ruining the motherboard if I go the soldering route. But, it isn't like I can use it anyway.

Eh, I should go to bed.

Saturday, November 25, 2006

Word

For some reason, I can't get my background image to work and it's really pissing me off.

Anyway, I've sat around the house and served no real purpose all day. I did clean the apartment though, so that's good. Morgan went to the drag strip at 10 this morning, and still isn't home. I guess he stopped at his Dad's house, then went to pick up his rear end from Dwane's house. It's about fucking time! We gave Dwane the money for the rear end 3 months ago, and it's finally ready. Gee, what a fabulous turnaround time!

I got my Mom's Christmas present, along with Barb's and Stacey's. Now I only have 4 more gifts to purchase and I'll be finished. Woo!

I need food.

Gobble

Tomorrow is Thanksgiving. Morgan and I are going to a MinervaDave buffet. Every Thanksgiving MinervaDave cooks dinner at a local restaurant, which provides Thanksgiving dinner for free. There's a donation jar for people who can afford, and of course we'll contribute. I'm looking forward to it, plus I'll get to see MinervaDave. The Jesus Buffet is in Cuyahoga Falls, and it'll be packed. The Jesus Buffet food's good, but I don't feel like fighting those types of crowds for Thanksgiving dinner.

I found what I'm getting my Mom for Christmas. It's a "day-after-Thanksgiving" deal, though, which means I will venture into the chaos again this year. It'll be markedly nicer this year, though. Last year it snowed, was freezing and I had to climb in the hatch of Blackie because the doors froze shut. Plus, I was pregnant. This year it's supposed to be almost 60 degrees and I'm not pregnant. Friday night we're going to this Burning River Roller Girls event. Saturday we're going to the racetrack, as long as it's nice enough to race (no rain/snow.) Sunday we're sitting on our asses.

Morgan finally has a cell phone again, but he can't use it until tomorrow. His SIM card wound up becoming unregistered in the month he hasn't had a phone. I have a feeling he's going to need a new SIM card. They're only $20, but there's nothing wrong with his old SIM card. It shouldn't have become unregistered because his line has been active, we just couldn't use it because he didn't have a phone. Hopefully the woman who put in the request for his current SIM to be reactivated knew what she was doing.

I need to write some crap down before I forget.
